Canada Calling….

Canada Calling….

Exactly 13 years after my family and I experienced a foreign country together. The IT industry has consistently fueled my growth, pushing me to embrace new battles and continuously learn cutting-edge technologies. It’s been a struggle to master new technologies and prove my abilities to work with prestigious fortune 500 companies

Currently, I’m transitioning from Big Data platforms and AWS technologies to an exciting new role in Supply Chain, diving into fresh challenges with Oracle tools and BI technologies with complex python coding. Beyond technology, the IT world also requires global collaboration and the willingness to immerse myself in diverse cultures across various locations. So, with this let me take opportunity to share my experience.

I remember that day like it was yesterday – April 12th, 2025. After months of planning, packing, and countless goodbyes, we finally touched down in Canada! It was refreshing change from the warmth we left behind in India, and a sense of excitement, tinged with a little nervousness.

Our first stop was the Holiday Inn, a familiar comfort in a new land. Those initial days were a shaking off jet lag with experience of food outside (no Indian food and no masala tea). We spent those first few days adjusting, taking in the sights from our hotel window, and just soaking in the fact that we were finally here. Experiencing Canada last months of winter and Indian hots weather, initial few days was challenging while moving outside from hotel.

Canadian City: Finding Our First Home

While the Holiday Inn was a comfortable temporary haven, our main goal was to find a place to call our own. The search for accommodation in Canadian city was an adventure in itself! We spent days exploring different neighborhoods, exploring Canadian real-estate rental market. Finally, after a diligent search of 5 days, we found it – a cozy home right here in Brampton that felt just right for our family. The relief and joy of having our own space, unpacking our suitcases, and starting to settle. We finally had Indian home cooked food and most importantly “Indian Tea”. And the more cheer erupted when we received my son secured admission to a school, conveniently located right near our home! Knowing he would have a seamless transition into the Canadian education system, with new friends and learning experiences awaiting him just a short walk away, brought us so much peace of mind.

Embracing the Canadian Seasons: A Spring and Summer to Remember

Coming from India, we were eager to experience the famous Canadian seasons, and let me tell you, Spring and Summer did not disappoint us! April and May brought a beautiful awakening. With the last traces of winter melted away, replaced by vibrant green leaves, flowers, and the delightful chirping of birds. Every walk nearby felt like a new discovery.

As June started, Summer truly embraced us. The long, sunny days have been an absolute blessing. We’ve spent hours exploring local parks, enjoying picnics, and simply relishing the warm weather. It’s been wonderful to see my son run around freely, enjoying the outdoor spaces that Brampton offers. The gentle breeze and pleasant temperatures have made every outdoor activity a joy.

Summer: Toronto & Niagara Falls!

July started summer and beyond my expectation, it’s really hots. Yes, we highly dependent on fan and AC, off course. Beyond our everyday life in Brampton, we’ve also indulged in some fantastic outings. Shopping malls here are a whole different experience! The sheer variety of stores, the spacious layouts, and the overall atmosphere make them a perfect place to spend an afternoon, whether we’re actually shopping or just enjoying a stroll.

And no trip to this part of Canada would be complete without visiting its iconic landmarks! Our trip to Toronto was absolutely electrifying. We explored the downtown, CN Tower, and soaked in the multicultural vibe of the city. Toronto Island is also very good area for day-out picnic.

Niagara Falls trip, beauty of the Falls up close was an unforgettable experience. The roar of the water, the mist on our faces, and the breathtaking views left us all speechless. It truly felt like standing before one of nature’s greatest masterpieces. It was a moment that solidified the magic of being in Canada. This is second time I visited Niagara fall, but this time we experienced from front of fall. Canada has better view comparing USA.

Journey Continues…with struggle with new role…..See you soon
